Over a Barrel Animal Rescue Program

The Dax Foundation expounds the celebration of all life and feels that altruism is not species-specific. It is with these ideals in mind that the Dax Foundation launched the Over a Barrel Animal Rescue Program (OAB). OAB will give lifetime housing and care to animals in need, particularly abused and neglected big cats (Lions, Tigers, Panthers, etc.). OAB seeks to specifically address the problems associated with the exploding growth and cruel treatment of largely illegal breeding of big cats. The OAB program centers around an animal sanctuary located on 120 acres of land in Southern California. It is a sanctuary for big cats that have been neglected or mistreated or in danger of being put to death for a variety of reasons. The facility, currently in the design and pre-construction phase, will consist of a state-of-the-art treatment and teaching veterinary hospital, an educational center, and humane living quarters for up to 4,000 animals.
