Le Stade des Fractions
Math · Ages 10-12
An illustrative example made from a parent's request — nothing identifying. A way, never the way.
Guide: a parent at home · Learner: un apprenant de 11 ans · Age band: 10–12 · Subject: Math · Language: French
The package
A fractions course in French, in seven steps, set inside a single 3D stadium built with three.js. The learner arrives with no prior fractions and leaves having covered: what a fraction is (the pitch cut into equal parts), comparing fractions (two runners on the 400 m track), adding and subtracting (laps repainted with new equal parts), a fraction of a number (balls shared into hoops), finding the whole from a fraction — and a ten-penalty final to close. Done with a parent at home, in one sitting or across a few.
Each step
Every step has four parts: Regarde (a step-by-step 3D walkthrough), Pourquoi ? (the reason), À toi ! (five questions on the stadium, two tries, then the answer and why), and Guide (what to say, what to ask, what to watch for, an off-screen activity, the answer key). A Bilan at the end writes a next-time note — what happened in this session, never a label — to paste into the next one.
Provenance
Built from a real parent's request; everything identifying is left out. Illustrative example.
