Nova DAX
A person's record, for life.
English · French coming
Chapter 1 of 4AheadNothing assumed, just the point
What is Nova DAX?
Your whole record, from the time you can communicate to the end of your life: what you reached, what you tried, who guided you, what you reused, and your memories. It starts with the learning record in Meta DAX. It is one of the two big things still to come.
Where this goes
Your whole life's learning and memory in one record you own, read with you by a companion that is yours.

Most learning disappears. You finish a course, the record vanishes, the next school or employer starts from scratch. Nova DAX is the design for a record that does not disappear: everything a person reached, tried, was guided through, and reused — from first communication to the end of her life. Meta DAX, the learning platform being built now, plants the first seed of that record. Nova DAX is the whole plant, from seed to end of life. It is not built yet; Meta DAX is the one being built now.
Today, and where it goes
Meta DAX is building the learning record today: what a learner reached, what she tried, what she was guided through. That record is the seed. When Nova DAX is built, the seed grows into the full lifelong record. Nothing you reached in Meta DAX is wasted; it becomes the beginning of Nova DAX.
The proof
The Meta DAX page describes the learning record and its design. The Foundation is open about what is built now and what is still to come.

Underneath
The record is yours. A person holds her own record — not the school, not the employer, not the platform. Every action in the record is logged under the Constraint Protocol: who acted, on what, under whose authority. That is the substrate Nova DAX will grow on.

Next question: Whose is it?
Chapter 2 of 4AheadNothing assumed, just the point
Whose is it?
Yours. You carry it with you. It is private unless you choose to publish part of it, and what you publish stays public for good. Your guides and your companion can read it only on your terms. Every entry is signed under the Constraint Protocol.

When you learn something, the record of that is yours — not the platform's, not the teacher's. You carry it with you if you move schools, switch jobs, or just want a fresh start somewhere else. Nobody gets to look unless you say so. Your teacher or tutor gets access only if you open that door. The same goes for your cognitive companion, the AI-like extension that works with you day to day. Everything in it is under your control. The Constraint Protocol is the rule-set that makes sure every entry is accounted for: who wrote it, under whose authority, and what happens if something goes wrong.
Today, and where it goes
You hold a key. Anyone who wants to read your record — a guide, a companion, a potential employer — needs you to turn it. You can grant read access for a session, a project, or permanently. You can also take it back. The signing happens automatically each time an entry is added; you do not have to do anything, but you can always check.
The proof
The Constraint Protocol is the published rule that backs this up.

Ownership here is not just a feeling — it is enforced at the protocol level. The principal is the person; no operator or delegate can override that. Portability means the record travels with the person, not with the service that helped create it.

Next question: Where does it start?
Chapter 3 of 4Running todayNothing assumed, just the point
Where does it start?
It starts today as your learning record: what you reached, what you tried and kept, who guided you, and what you reused. Dead ends are kept as carefully as successes. Where it goes: a record a companion reads with you, for life.
Where this goes
It starts with the first thing you learn and keeps growing with you for the rest of your life.

More
Most records only keep what went well. This one keeps everything — the attempts, the wrong turns, the moments a guide stepped in, the breakthroughs. That makes it useful. A dead end you kept means you do not have to walk it again. A success you kept means someone else can build on it. The companion — the AI-like extension that works alongside you — reads the whole record, not just the highlights. It learns what you have already tried so it does not send you in circles. And it stays with you: not for one course, not for one job, but for life.
Today, and where it goes
Every time you learn — a lesson, a project, a conversation with a guide — an entry goes into the record. The entry says what was tried, what happened, who was involved, and how it was guided. Dead ends are flagged, not deleted. When your companion reads the record with you, it uses that full picture to help you decide what to try next. Because the record is yours and portable, this works across schools, jobs, and decades.
The proof
The Meta DAX page at daxfoundation.org/metadax/ describes the learning record as it stands today.

Underneath
The record is not a transcript. It is a structured account of learning: reached, tried, guided, reused. The companion is a cognitive extension of the person; everything in its domain is under her control and her responsibility. Reuse here means the record is legible to future guides and companions — it does not mean the data is shared without consent.

Next question: What does this make possible?
Chapter 4 of 4AheadNothing assumed, just the point
What does this make possible?
Everything you learn and remember stays with you, for life, in one record you own. A companion that knows the whole record helps you go further. And because records can be shared by choice, each person starts further ahead than the last.
Where this goes
Your whole life's learning and memory as one record you own, read with you by a companion that is yours.

Three chapters told the story: what Nova DAX is, who owns it, and how the record starts today. The record is yours — not the school's, not the institution's, not any platform's. The seed is being planted now in Meta DAX: reached, tried, guided, reused. When Nova DAX is built, the seed grows into the full record — from first communication to end of life. The companion reads it with you. A way, never the way: the record must not lead you; your companion must not lead you. Dead ends are kept.
Today, and where it goes
What is live today: the Meta DAX learning record — reached, tried, guided, reused — as the seed. The record schema experiments are public. The companion layer is the next experiment. The Foundation publishes what is proven as it is made.
The proof
The Meta DAX page describes the learning record and the seed. The Foundation is open about what is proven and what is still an experiment.

The record stays yours across every institution, every guide, every companion. The Constraint Protocol is the accountability layer under every entry. The companion reads the record with you — not for you, with you. A way, never the way.
